Morning vs night studying...

In the mornings I’m *always* drinking coffee, trying to get the bulk of my work done and not giving in to any distractions.

In nursing school though I feel like there’s work to do 24/7!!

So at night I’m writing or going over notecards and learning objectives. Writing notecards doesn’t require my complete attention since the active learning part for me is going through the notecards so I love to listen to podcasts and it’s actually relaxing. But maybe that’s just the wine tonight 🍷

I basically disappeared off the face of the Earth this week because I started nursing school on Monday! It was a lot to figure out schedule-wise. Fortunately I’m in a place where I don’t have to work while I’m in school because that would be a whole other challenge!

I’ll be posting my first week recap on my blog later today & will try the be more present on here this week! 💚

Went wine tasting @maryhillwinery and then grabbed some festive fall flowers at the @vancouverfarmersmarket. It made for the perfect Sunday with good company 💛

What are your favorite books? Every year I set a

What are your favorite books?

Every year I set a goal to read 52 books (1/week) and I’ve never met it. The closest I’ve been was 5 years ago when I started doing that and read 35 books. The furthest away I’ve been is 5 so it varies A LOT.

This year I’m already at 46 books, so I only have 6 more to go! It’s totally from being home a lot more often & having read a lot of shorter (300 page) books. I feel like I haven’t read a really good book this year (despite having read so many) and I feel like I’m getting into a reading slump.

So, let’s exchange book recs! If you have any, comment them below. I ready pretty much every genre!

Currently wildfires are raging across California,

Currently wildfires are raging across California, Oregon and Washington...

I love nature (you can probably tell by my Insta). So it’s incredibly frustrating to see it being destroyed & it being shrugged off because what can you do? Because we can all do something.

There are wildfires every year for the past millions of years, but climate change is making these wildfires WORSE. Wildfire season is longer than it was a few decades ago and now increased temps, drier conditions and extended droughts are adding increased risk.

We need to move towards renewable energy sources, implement legislation that promotes eco-conscious practices, vote for environmental forward candidates into office (and push for environmental regulations to those in office) because this isn’t going to get better. It’s just going to get worse and our forests will burn, hurricanes will become more destructive and our oceans will continue to fill with plastic, etc.

Take a stance in your own life and switch to more sustainable practices. It’s been said a thousand times but we don’t need a handful of people practicing sustainability perfectly, we need millions of people doing it imperfectly.
